iGaming Revenue for Delaware Surges in August to Over $5.7 Million
Delaware online casino revenue surged last August to more than $5.7 million, significantly up from last year's revenue in the same month of $1.1 million. Three online casinos have reported substantial increases, including Harrington Raceway & Casino, Bally's Dover Casino, and Delaware Park, all under the umbrella of BetRivers.
Delaware's iGaming industry continues to soar, with the state reporting significant increases in total net gaming revenue for the month of August, 2024. According to figures shared by the Delaware Lottery, the state's online gaming sector brought in $5,750,795 in net gaming revenue for the month. This marks a notable increase from the $5,193,734 reported in July, the first month of Delaware's fiscal year for 2025.
The latest numbers showcase the impressive growth of Delaware's iGaming market. To put this in perspective, August 2023 saw gaming revenue of just $1,107,133, demonstrating the rapid expansion of the industry over the past year.
Record revenue across different casino games
Delving deeper into the data, Delaware's three online casinos reported robust earnings across various game categories. Online video games generated the largest share of revenue, bringing in $3,740,999 from a total of $89,725,290 in bets. Meanwhile, table games contributed $2,009,796 in revenue, drawn from $74,585,343 in total bets. Altogether, players across the state wagered a massive $164,310,633 in the month of August.
The Delaware Lottery, which oversees the state's iGaming operations, manages three online poker sites and three online casinos, as well as the state lottery. The continued rise in wagering activity and revenue reflects the increasing popularity of online gaming options in Delaware.
Transition to BetRivers platform boosts engagement
A key driver behind Delaware's online gaming boom has been the successful partnership with Rush Street Interactive's (RSI) platform, BetRivers. Earlier this year, the Delaware Lottery transitioned to the BetRivers platform to power its very first online sportsbook and relaunch its three casinos online: Harrington Raceway & Casino, Bally's Dover Casino, and Delaware Park.
This move has paid off handsomely, providing Delaware players with a whole new and revamped gaming experience. The BetRivers platform introduced a wider selection of casino games and streamlined the deposit and withdrawal process, making it easier for players to participate. The platform's smooth integration across the casinos has clearly contributed to the upward trend in both player engagement and revenue.
Casino breakdown: Delaware Park leads the way
Among Delaware's three online casinos, Delaware Park dominated the revenue charts for August. The casino reported net gaming revenue of $3,132,140, accounting for the largest portion of the state's total. Harrington Raceway & Casino followed with $1,540,271 in net revenue, while Bally's Dover Casino rounded out the top three with $1,078,384.
Bally's Dover has been operating its own standalone app for online gaming, while players can gain access to the Delaware Park and Harrington online platforms through the BetRivers site. This multi-platform approach has ensured that players have diverse and easily accessible options for participating in Delaware's thriving iGaming market.
Player registrations continue to climb
Not only is Delaware experiencing a surge in iGaming revenue, but player registrations are also on the rise. In August, the state reported 3,951 new player registrations, a significant increase from the 3,535 registrations recorded in July.
The total net gaming revenue for Delaware so far this fiscal year stands at an impressive $10,944,529, a figure that is expected to continue climbing as Delaware solidifies its position as a leading state in the iGaming space.
Bright future for Delaware iGaming
Delaware's iGaming sector is showing no signs of slowing down. With innovative partnerships like the one with BetRivers, the state has successfully modernized its online gaming infrastructure, attracting more players and generating record-breaking revenue. As player registrations continue to grow and new gaming options are introduced, Delaware's iGaming industry is set for even greater success in the months and years ahead.
With a total of $164 million wagered in just one month, it's clear that Delaware is becoming a force to be reckoned with in the US online gaming market. Despite its slow start, the state's online casinos and sports betting platforms have created an enticing ecosystem for gamers, one that promises to generate more revenue growth and player engagement.
