The Top Reasons Why You Should Join a New Online Casino in 2025

Off the top of our head, we can think of more than a few reasons why it’s a brilliant decision to join a new online casino this 2025. One big reason is for the welcome bonuses, and these new casinos online have welcome bonuses aplenty! You can also be privy to new and exciting games (such as progressive jackpot slots – the latest trend) and be enamored with cool new competitions and unlock new achievements. There are numerous benefits that come with trying out a new casino, and here are just a few top reasons why you should join:

Huge welcome bonuses

This is a major draw for many new players: new casinos have the most gigantic welcome bonuses ever, and not only this – the size of the first welcome bonus is bound to increase with your very first deposit. There are plenty of regulated new casinos on the market, each one vying for your attention – and the first thing on their agenda is to give the most amazing welcome bonuses to new players.

Regular promos for existing players

At a new casino site, the bonuses and promos aren’t just for the newbies – far from it. There will also be something for everyone, including regular promos for existing players. Almost all new casino sites in the US will have a loyalty program, and these come with awesome free spins or reload rewards and bonuses.

Progressive jackpot games

One of the most interesting aspects about new casinos today is the sheer volume of progressive jackpot games they all have. Many licensed and legal operators now have progressive jackpots in their arsenal, because, to be honest, it brings in the most new players. They’re only just starting, mind you – but before long, we predict that those lobbies will be filled to the brim with attractive (and lucrative!) progressive jackpots.

Brand-new player programs

It isn’t just about welcoming you to a VIP or loyalty program – all the online casinos have that. Instead, we’re talking about brand-new player clubs and programs that have exciting new innovations for members, such as VIP managers exclusively for you and personalized deals awaiting you every week and month. You can even cash-in the points you earn for more money – the more novel the idea, the more casinos tend to jump in on the action. It’s definitely an exciting time to join.

Virginia Lottery Debuts First Virtual Sports Betting Platform in US

Virginia Lottery Debuts First Virtual Sports Betting Platform in US

The very first virtual sports product has been launched in the US by the Virginia Lottery in collaboration with Aristocrat Gaming and Inspired Entertainment. Referred to as VSports, these virtual lottery games include sports such as basketball, football, horse racing, and more, available through the Virginia Lottery's online platform.

The Virginia Lottery has made history by becoming the first US regulated lottery to offer virtual sports draw games online, marking a groundbreaking step in the evolution of digital lottery entertainment. This new suite of games, called VSports, was launched through a strategic partnership involving Aristocrat Interactive, Inspired Entertainment, and NeoPollard Interactive.

A pioneering move in the US iLottery market

VSports represents the first-ever introduction of virtual sports to a regulated digital lottery platform in the United States. The games simulate popular sports such as basketball, football, and horse racing, and are now available to players through the Virginia Lottery's online platform. Unlike traditional sports betting, these games rely on a certified random number generator, delivering outcomes that are both fair and entertaining, but not tied to real-world events.

Offering new ways to play, the virtual games operate on a frequent, rapid schedule - running every two to three minutes - and replicate the excitement of live sports for digital lottery players. This innovation is designed to enhance engagement while aligning with regulatory standards in the gaming space.

Tech integration and key partnerships

The new product was developed by Inspired Entertainment, a global leader in virtual sports content, and was seamlessly integrated into the Virginia Lottery's digital ecosystem through Aristocrat Interactive's Fusion aggregation platform.

NeoPollard Interactive also played a key role in delivering the content by leveraging its longstanding operational partnership with the Virginia Lottery. The collaborative approach helped ensure that the integration was both technically robust and aligned with the lottery's strategic goals.

The Managing Director of Aristocrat Interactive iLottery, Chris Shaban, highlighted the significance of the launch, stating: "The introduction of these first-of-its-kind draw games for the Virginia Lottery exemplifies how customers can benefit from strategic integrations that drive new innovations."

A win for players and public education

From the Virginia Lottery's perspective, the introduction of VSports is more than just a novel gaming option - it's a way to expand player offerings while staying true to its mission of supporting public education.

"This relationship allows us to provide a wide range of new, distinctive games that we are confident will be exciting and appealing to our players," said the Deputy Executive Director of Marketing at the Virginia Lottery, Scott Kenyon. "At the same time, it supports the Lottery's overall mission of raising revenue for K-12 public education in the Commonwealth."

Part of a broader growth strategy

The launch of VSports comes amid strong digital performance from Aristocrat Interactive in 2025, particularly in the North Carolina and Virginia markets through its NPI venture. The iLottery and digital content segments were among the few bright spots for Aristocrat in the first half of the year, contributing to a 9% increase in overall group revenue despite headwinds in its international gaming division.

The success of the Virginia launch is expected to pave the way for further expansion of virtual sports offerings in other regulated lottery markets. Inspired Entertainment confirmed that more VSports titles are on the horizon, describing the current rollout as the first phase in a broader content roadmap aimed at transforming the digital lottery experience nationwide.

As digital gaming continues to gain momentum across the US, the Virginia Lottery"s VSports debut could serve as a blueprint for how traditional lottery organizations can innovate while maintaining regulatory compliance. With more titles expected to launch and additional states watching closely, this pioneering move may be just the beginning of a larger shift in how Americans engage with lottery games online.

Texas Disbands Lottery Commission, Lottery Still Running

Texas Disbands Lottery Commission, Lottery Still Running

Governor Greg Abbott officially signed SB 3070, allowing the Texas Lottery to continue until 2029 but also disbanding the Texas Lottery Commission, which operated the Texas Lottery since its inception more than 30 years ago. Senate Bill 3070 also criminalizes lottery courier operations and prohibits ticket sales online, and beginning September 1, the Texas Lottery will be operated by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The Texas Lottery Commission, which has overseen the state's lottery system for over three decades, will be dissolved following the passage of a new law that imposes strict limitations on the games. Governor Greg Abbott signed Senate Bill 3070, keeping the Texas Lottery operational through 2029 but placing it under new management and tightening regulations around ticket sales - especially online.

The move comes after a legislative session in which the future of the Texas Lottery became a battleground, drawing scrutiny over recent controversies and the commission's oversight.

Online sales banned, oversight transferred

Under SB 3070, all online and app-based lottery ticket sales, including those conducted by courier services, are now prohibited. Starting September 1, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation will assume responsibility for lottery operations. The now-defunct Texas Lottery Commission's functions and remaining staff will be folded into TDLR during the coming months.

A TDLR spokesperson confirmed the formation of a transitioning team and the creation of working groups comprised of staff from both agencies, though the department said it was "premature" to disclose further details.

Controversies spark legislative action

The legislative crackdown follows two major scandals: the controversial win of a $95 million Lotto Texas jackpot by a group that allegedly bought 99% of the 25.8 million ticket combinations, and the rise of lottery courier apps like Jackpocket. These apps allow users to order tickets digitally, which are then printed and scanned by third-party retailers.

Though the Texas Lottery Commission had permitted such operations for years, it abruptly reversed course mid-session, drawing criticism from lawmakers like Senator Bob Hall and Lt. Governor Dan Patrick. Hall, who authored SB 3070, described the bill as "the next best thing" to abolishing the lottery altogether.

The new law makes selling tickets online or through any digital platform a Class A misdemeanor, carrying penalties of up to one year in jail. It also limits in-person ticket purchases to a maximum of 100 per player at licensed retailers.

Lottery's revenue saves it - for now

Despite vocal opposition from Hall and other critics, complete elimination of the lottery failed to gain traction due to its critical role in public education funding. The lottery contributes roughly $2 billion annually to Texas schools, a sum lawmakers were unwilling to forfeit during the current budget cycle.

"It didn't take a lot of in-depth discussion," Hall said. "We're not going to be able to end [the lottery]... We need the income to balance the budget for this next biennium."

Nevertheless, the future of the Texas Lottery remains uncertain. SB 3070 sets a new expiration date of 2029, after which lawmakers will be required to reauthorize it following a Sunset Advisory Commission review.

Leadership exodus and ongoing investigations

The dismantling of the Texas Lottery Commission comes amid a wave of resignations. Executive Director Ryan Mindell stepped down in April, following the earlier departures of two of the five commissioners. Meanwhile, investigations into lottery operations continue.

The Texas Rangers are currently probing the controversial $95 million jackpot as well as the activities of online courier services. Another case involves an $83.5 million win by Kristen Moriarty, a Houston resident who purchased her ticket via Jackpocket. Despite being declared the winner in February, Moriarty has not been paid and has reportedly not been contacted by DPS. "It was excitement and happiness at first, and then it just progressed to stress and anger," she said.

The Texas Lottery Commission has cited the ongoing investigation as the reason for the delay in her payout. DPS has declined to comment, citing policy on active investigations.

Texas Makes Serious Changes to Lottery Leadership

Texas Makes Serious Changes to Lottery Leadership

The Texas Senate has decided to make some sweeping regulatory changes to the Texas Lottery. It would effectively discard the Texas Lottery Commission but it will transfer the control to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation as well as make several changes to how the lottery is managed in the state.

In a sweeping move aimed at overhauling the administration of Texas’ lottery system, the Texas Senate unanimously approved legislation that would abolish the Texas Lottery Commission and transfer oversight responsibilities to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The bill, Senate Bill 3070, sponsored by Senator Bob Hall, passed 31 - 0 late last week.

While the measure retains the existence of the lottery itself for now, it marks a significant shift in governance and opens the door for the possible elimination of lottery gaming in the state within two years. The Texas House has already begun fast-tracking the bill for committee discussion ahead of the legislative session’s end on June 2.

Sweeping changes to how the lottery is operated

Under SB 3070, the TDLR would not only assume administrative control but also implement a series of new restrictions aimed at increasing transparency and accountability. For instance, the bill would criminalize online lottery play, prohibit consumers from purchasing over 100 tickets at once, and ban the use of courier services to buy tickets on behalf of others. Additionally, it would cap the number of ticket-printing terminals available to licensed retailers.

These changes come in response to a high-profile incident in 2023 in which a lottery syndicate won a $95 million jackpot after reportedly spending $25 million to secure 99% of all possible number combinations. The episode triggered widespread media coverage and legislative scrutiny, with many lawmakers pointing to it as a sign that the lottery system was vulnerable to manipulation.

Temporary lifeline: two-year trial before sunset review

Though SB 3070 preserves the lottery for now, its long-term fate remains uncertain. The legislation includes a provision for a limited “sunset review” by August 31, 2027, which could lead to the complete shutdown of the lottery if lawmakers are not satisfied with how the new oversight regime performs.

Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, a vocal proponent of the reform, framed the legislation as a probationary period for the state’s gaming operations. “We’re going to give the extension to the game to the TDLR,” Patrick said in a video statement. “They will oversee it with a brand-new leadership team and new guardrails … We can ban it in two years if the TDLR does not operate it as we instruct them to.”

The potential stakes are high. The Texas Lottery contributes approximately $2 billion annually to the state’s coffers, primarily benefiting education and veterans' services.

Top state officials granted inspection authority

One of the more unusual features of SB 3070 is a provision allowing top Texas officials - including the governor, lieutenant governor, and attorney general - to conduct in-person inspections of licensed lottery retailers.

This clause appears to have been influenced by Lt. Gov. Patrick’s own efforts earlier this year to investigate Winner’s Corner, a retail outlet owned by lottery courier Jackpocket. Patrick had claimed he was denied full access when attempting to scrutinize the store following the sale of an $83.5 million winning ticket.

“Now, I’ll be a lottery inspector, and I can drop in and go anywhere I want to make sure everything is on the up and up,” declared Patrick in a video. He further alleged that his experience with Winner’s Corner led to broader revelations about what he called “alleged corruption” within the Lottery Commission.

Path forward hinges on House and Governor

The Texas House must now act quickly to move the bill forward before the legislative session concludes. If the legislation is not approved and sent to Governor Greg Abbott before June 2, it cannot be taken up again until the legislature reconvenes in 2027.

Sen. Hall’s initial bill, SB 1988, had called for the complete abolition of the lottery but failed to gain traction. SB 3070 represents a compromise that leaves room for reform while keeping the game alive - for now. The coming weeks will determine whether the bill becomes law and whether the Texas Lottery’s future remains a gamble or becomes a more tightly controlled enterprise.

The Best Aspects to Look for in a New Casino

In our humble opinion, every best new casino has something special to offer to new players, because let’s face it: the competition is fierce, and a new casino has to have that unique “wow factor” that will make players sit up and take notice. So the big question is, how do you choose an exciting new casino? Is it solely based on their bonus or number of games? Do you have to think about other factors, such as their legality and their mobile app? Well, the short and sweet answer is all of the above. Here’s what you should know:

Their license and accordance with regulations

First of all, when looking at potential new casinos 2025, you have to check if they are duly licensed to operate in your state. You might want to look for a casino that is fully legal, because that means you are protected. When you try to gamble at an offshore casino, you might encounter some issues – the greatest of which is your financial transactions. Needless to say, banks in the US are more likely to block those transactions simply because they are restricted by federal law. So your best bet? Look for brand new casino sites that are legal and licensed to operate in your state. As of July 2025, the list of states where iGaming is legal are New Jersey (it’s one of the pioneers, after all), Connecticut, Michigan, Delaware, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Rhode Island.

One more tip: check that the payouts and software are audited by an independent authority like TST or eCOGRA.

Their platform and mobile app

Of course, you should also look at the casino platform itself. Is it easy to navigate and does it look smooth and seamless? Is it relatively hassle-free to get to your game favorites? Is there a filter? If you’re the type who likes playing games while on the go, then you might want to take a look at the mobile app as well. Without question, it should come with a dedicated app, whether you’re an Android or iOS user. The app should offer almost the same capability as the desktop version and be a breeze to use, whatever device or gadget you have.

Their game library

An online casino is nothing without its games! That said, look at its game library – does it have an extensive list of games, and does it have enough interesting game titles? Also, it would be wise to check new online casinos for games that have demo plays – this way, you can try the games out for free first, like slot games or table games – and if you like them, then you can play for real money.

Their payment methods

A new casino should also have a number of diverse payment methods, especially nowadays when we have e-wallets and prepaid cards. You should be able to choose which payment method to go for, whether you want to go the usual route and pay with your debit or credit card or pay with your Apple Pay or Play+ card. As long as their payment methods are varied and plentiful, this is a good sign.

Their customer support

Everyone knows how vital customer support is, particularly if you’re playing a casino game and there’s an issue with payment or the game itself. So the last – but definitely not the least – option to check out would be the new online casino site’s customer support options. It would be good, for example, if they had email support and a toll-free phone number, and it would be even better if they had dedicated live chat. It’s the best – and easiest – way to reach out if there is an issue.

New versus Old: An in-depth look at the differences between the two

We can’t say that one is better than the other, because all online casinos, regardless if they’re new or established, have their merits. What we can say, though, is that you should weigh those merits based on what’s most important to you. At the end of the day, only you can ultimately decide which casino is best. But what makes new casinos different from established ones? Here’s a rundown:

New Established
Huge welcome bonuses for new players A reputation for fast withdrawals and quick bonuses
Exceptional rewards programs for existing players A lower welcome bonus
New, advanced software and better, sleeker mobile apps A bigger game library
A lack of info regarding withdrawals and bonuses The software may be outdated
A smaller amount of games A reputable connection with a land-based casino

The list of bonuses and rewards at new casinos

As previously mentioned, the online casino 2025 selection is most likely to offer excellent welcome bonuses and more original rewards than established casinos. They do this to attract new players, of course, but more than this, they offer more incentives to entice existing players as well. They have plenty of bonuses and rewards for their customers, namely:

The welcome bonus

The coveted welcome bonus is offered by every new casino on the block, and it’s the number one way they can entice you to join! Welcome bonuses are exclusively given to those who sign up for the first time, and they can either be automatic or be given with an exclusive promo code. Nowadays, they are also given in line with a first deposit, where the casino will match your first deposit (often by 100%) and let you play or withdraw your bonus once you have fulfilled the wagering requirements. There are different amounts given as a welcome bonus, but the most common welcome bonus for new casinos is a deposit match of 100% to as much as $1000.

The reload bonus

Just like its name implies, a reload bonus is when you have cleared your welcome bonus – and you will get a limited deposit match from the new casino worth about 20 to 50%. The new casino may set lower wagering/playthrough requirements to encourage you to take the offer.

The deposit bonus

Meanwhile, the deposit bonus is another popular promotion commonly provided by new casinos, and most of them will offer up to 100% deposit. Picture this: a new casino is providing a bonus of 100% for up to $1000. So if you make a deposit of $1000, the new casino will match it to the tune of another $1000 to make it 100%. This means you have a total of $2000 to play with – neat, right? But in order to clear your bonus amount, you will have to play through the whole amount, maybe up to 50x. If you do this within a set timeframe, you will get both your bonus and your winnings.

Multiple match bonuses

Multiple match bonuses are the newest bonus offers from new casinos, and with this, they will spread out their welcome bonus and distribute them in increments. For example, if the new casino will offer a 100% deposit match of up to $1000, this will drop to 75% for a $500 deposit on the next load and 50% for a $250 load on the succeeding one and so on.

Other bonuses and rewards

You are bound to receive other rewards and bonuses, such as free spins (where you will get 30 – 50 free spins on slots), slot of the week, where you will get free spins on a particular video slot, and refer-a-friend, which gives you cash for free every time you refer a friend to the casino and your friend plays. In addition, when they register, deposit, or play, you will both get free cash. Normally, a refer-a-friend bonus at new casinos can be worth $50.

How to win real money at new online casinos

In all of this, there’s probably one big question you are wondering about: “Is it really possible to win real cash at new casino sites?” We’ll give you an honest answer: Absolutely. In fact, with new casinos, you have more incentives to win, and you can even have more winning chances.

Trust us when we say that new online gambling sites are doing their utmost to attract new customers – and one of their draws is to offer more prizes and more rewards and incentives. They want to make the best impression – and as such, they are all set to give you exactly what you are looking for. These new casinos will most likely give you free spins on slot games, for instance, and they are also most likely to give you instant play or no deposit bonuses just to try table games such as baccarat and blackjack. And, more often than not, these new casinos are more likely to present you with an excellent first-deposit match to add more funds to your bankroll – and this gives you more winning chances to take home a big prize. Aside from this, new casinos have other incentives for new players, such as loyalty programs and players’ clubs, and they will also have more exciting games to help you win more.

The kinds of new games on offer

The most established casinos will already have your classic favorites, from old-school or vintage fruit- or Egypt-themed slots, table games like baccarat and blackjack, and many more. And while it’s perfectly fine to stick with these kinds of games, it wouldn’t hurt to try out the more innovative casino games that are often found with new casinos. And boy, do they have something for everyone! Check it out for yourself.

Jackpot slots give players the chance to win astounding amounts of up to $1 million or more. Luckily for you, the latest casino sites offer a dozen or more progressive jackpot slots from leading developers. There are also video slots, which consist of hundreds of slots in the game library – enough to keep any gamer satisfied, especially since each line is only about $.01! The most popular video slots are the 3D slot games and the slot classic three reels.

If you are looking for something more along the lines of table games like roulette or blackjack, you can’t go wrong with new casinos, where you can now find exciting new variants such as European or French roulette and online roulette games such as Double Ball or Multi-Ball roulette. And there’s more than just the classic blackjack nowadays, with more new casino sites offering multi-hand and Atlantic City blackjack.

That’s only the tip of the iceberg, because there are more new variants on old favorites, like video poker, card games, live casino games, and other variety games such as scratch cards, bingo, and virtual sports. In truth, with so many sensational new games along with classic games on the list, you will be spoilt for choice. It’s like Christmas, Easter, and your birthday all rolled into one!

Sign me up!

Now with all the excitement garnered by these best new casino sites, you must all be raring to sign up. Well, you’ll be happy to know that the process of signing up and registering will only take a few minutes, as there really is no difference between signing up for an established casino or a new one. Here’s how to do it right:

  1. First, create a unique username plus a password, one that you will have no difficulty remembering. You will use your username and password each time you log on to your casino account.
  2. Next, you will be asked to enter your information, and this includes your name, home address, phone number, and email address. Note that you will have to input a US address and phone number in a state where online casino gaming is legal. Then you will also be asked for the last four digits of your SSN.
  3. You will need to then verify your email address by checking your email and clicking on the confirmation sent by the online casino. This enables you to verify your account and set it up.
  4. Keep in mind also that most new casinos will ask for your personal documents that will confirm your address and age. You might even be asked to upload copies of your driver’s license or passport, particularly when you want to deposit or withdraw. Don’t worry – this is standard procedure for all online casinos in the US in compliance with the gaming authorities in each state.
  5. All you have to do when you have successfully completed the steps above is deposit an amount and start playing! New casinos will surely have numerous games for you to try, so whether you opt to play for free or make an initial deposit, it’s your prerogative. Just make sure to take advantage of the superb welcome bonus.

A state-by-state guide to new casinos

After all is said and done, here is our much-awaited state-by-state guide to new casinos:

New Jersey

New Jersey is known for being the most progressive of all the states, and rightly so – since it launched the first online casinos way back in 2013. The number of casinos have grown exponentially in the Garden State over the years, and what was once 6 is now more than 24. The newest online casinos in NJ are BetAmerica, under the banner of Golden Nugget (and which is changing its name to TwinSpires), and bet365, under the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino name.

Michigan

In the state of Michigan, online casino gaming went live in January of 2021. The first casino names to enter Michigan were also some of the biggest, namely DraftKings, BetMGM, and Golden Nugget, but other names soon followed, such as Four Winds and PokerStars.

Pennsylvania

In Pennsylvania, online casino laws have reputedly been liberal, next only to New Jersey, and as a result, big casino operators such as Parx online casino, Hollywood Casino, and others shared the Pennsylvania limelight, followed by Unibet, BetRivers, and FanDuel. Now, there are over a dozen PA online casinos, with Borgata Casino and Stardust Casino joining in the early part of 2021.

West Virginia

The WV online gambling scene saw three casinos launching within months of each other, namely BetMGM, BetRivers, and DraftKings. Today, there are Caesars Palace, PointsBet, and FanDuel, among many others.

Connecticut

Connecticut first legalized online casino gaming in 2021, and the casino space came alive with two of the biggest names in online casino gambling: Mohegan Sun and DraftKings, which were soon joined by Bovada, Wild Casino, and BetNow.

Delaware

Ever since Delaware first legalized online casino gaming in 2013, along with sports betting and poker, it welcomed the biggest names in online casinos such as BetOnline and Pulsz, which were soon joined by Stake, High 5 Casino, WOW Vegas, and many more. The newest casinos in DE include Fortune Coins, Gambino Slots, and Chanced.

Rhode Island

As most people know, Rhode Island is the newest state to legalize online gambling, and as such, Bally’s Casino just recently launched its online casino platform. It has a complete monopoly over RI’s casino landscape, and other casino brands have yet to join the roster.

FAQ

Can a new casino be trusted over an established one?

Both old and new online casinos can be trusted - as long as they are licensed and regulated by a gambling authority in the United States. That is why it's important to check an online casino site's license and whether or not it is even authorized to operate within your state. Only go with casinos that are regulated and licensed in the US, and it is not advisable to go with offshore casinos that do not have the proper license.

How many new casino sites do we have each year?

It depends on the actual state's laws and regulations. For instance, New Jersey features new sites several times a year, while Rhode Island, which has only recently been the 7th state to legalize online gambling, only has one. It essentially depends on how many licenses are readily available in each state.

Can I play casino games in every state?

There are only seven states where online casino gambling is permitted in the US: New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Michigan, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and West Virginia. But if you simply want to play casino games without risking your money, you may be allowed to play at social casinos, where playing is simply for fun. It would be advisable, however, to check your state's laws and regulations concerning social sweepstakes casinos, as this can also vary.

Where can I find the best new casino sites?

At GambleSpot, we strive to provide you with the best new casino sites. However, the availability may vary depending on the state where you are located, as each of the seven states that have legalized online casino gambling has its preferred sites. If you want to find the best new casino sites for your state, please refer to our list of the best new online casino sites above.
