The MLB is home to a lot of clubs that are considered to be the most prominent sporting entities in the United States. Considering the fact that baseball and the MLB itself are one of the most popular leagues in the country, it is worth noting that a lot of fans are expecting to see their favorite teams come out on top with a promising climb on the playoffs now more than ever.

Not all teams get a chance to enjoy massive success in the coming playoffs. October is a landmark month for MLB fans as it will indicate the beginning of a new phase in the season where teams battle it out on the big stage with the hopes of establishing their dominance and showing that they have what it takes to win now more than ever.
But who are the fans expecting to see in the coming playoffs? Well, the Los Angeles Dodgers are heavy favorites to win the World Series at this point, joined by the New York Yankees as fans hope to see them make their case in the playoffs, which should definitely be a blockbuster showdown should it actually happen.
After all, there are a lot of contenders in the MLB right now who would be really expected to make some waves on the big stage as well.
But if you take a closer look, it does seem that these two teams coincidentally are the top two clubs with the most followers among squads in the league, which is why it should be fun to look out for considering that the MLB has a strong fanbase compared to other leagues. With the hype of the World Series building up, it seems fitting that we should compare which teams truly have the support of the fans on the big stage.
| Rank | Club | League | Division |

| 2 | New York Yankees | American | East | 3,700,000 | 21.3K - 25.8K USD |
| 3 | Boston Red Sox | American | East | 2,300,000 | 14.8K - 18.0K USD |
| 4 | Atlanta Braves | National | Central | 2,000,000 | 13.1K - 15.9K USD |
| 5 | Chicago Cubs | National | Central | 1,900,000 | 5.7K - 6.9K USD |

Based on the research, it does seem that only 15 MLB clubs have ever managed to accumulate over a million followers as of 2024. The Dodgers top off the list with 4 million followers – the most on the list and the only club to breach the 4-million mark. They are followed closely by the New York Yankees with 3.7 million followers on their account.

Only the Dodgers, Yankees, Boston Red Sox, and the Atlanta Braves are the only clubs to have more than 2 million followers, showing how these prominent teams in the modern era are compared to the teams with the most World Series wins.
For context, the St. Louis Cardinals (11 wins), Oakland Athletics (9 wins), San Fransico Giants (8 wins), the Cincinnati Reds (5 wins), and the Pittsburgh Pirates (5 wins) are all below the top 10 of the list despite being leaders in the most World Series wins – with the Oakland Athletics set way below the list with just 519.7k followers.
It is also worth noting that the Philadelphia Phillies, despite having the most all-star players in the 2024 MLB All-Star game, is ranked 10th overall on the list when it comes to the most followers. This just says a lot about how the MLB can be quite complex when it comes to its fanbases and how it can be a different picture for each team depending on their standing in their respective divisions.
On top of that, the Texas Rangers, who are the defending World Series champions, are only ranked 15th, sitting at the half of the list despite winning the competition last season. They are just close and above the Detroit Tigers, who is the last team not to reach more than 1 million followers on the list.
The MLB is a promising league that has acquired the love of many fans over the years, but it cannot be denied that the fans who support the respective clubs play a huge role in their growth not just as a team, but as a promising beacon of the prominence of the sport as a whole in the state, and the country as well. With the excitement of the World Series building up, it is worth noting that these fanbases will be a promising note of how the game is loved by the masses now more than ever.
