Vikings Suffer First Loss, Chiefs Stay Perfect in Week 7
The 2024 NFL Week 7 games have become quite a promising look for many fans as teams wrapped up their respective games – coming up with surprising and shocking results that may well be a point of reference for the league’s shift in power so far this season. This just says a lot about how the Week 7 games are crucial to look out for and how it can really affect the league standings.
For starters, the Minnesota Vikings took a massive hit in the game with the Detroit Lions escaping with a 31-29 win after surviving a late comeback. On the other hand, the Kansas City Chiefs continue to stay perfect following a massive 28-18 win over the 49ers. This week is definitely on the fence with teams seeking a chance to improve in their games.
At this point, it is hard to argue that these two contenders are still at the top of their respective games, but fans can expect to see more from them as they try to keep that as it is and hope to make the best out of their respective games on schedule now more than ever as they put Week 7 behind and put the next set of matches into perspective.
Vikings Fall Short in Comeback vs Lions
The Minnesota Vikings were one of the biggest surprises in the league right now, and it cannot be denied that the team was expected to win in their clash. The Vikings held a 10-0 lead by the end of the first but collapsed big time on defense when they were outscored by the Lions at 21-0 in the second frame thanks to the impressive plays by Jared Goff and Amon-Ra St. Brown.
The Vikings did try to make a comeback, pulling 19 points in the second half while holding the Lions to just 10 points. However, it did seem to be a futile finish with the team coming up short in the final play after leading 29-28 with Jake Bates scoring a three-point, 44-yard field goal that allowed the Lions to escape with a 31-29 victory to wrap up the day.
By the end of the game, the Lions finished with 391 yards, and the Vikings finished with 383 yards. It does seem fair to say that the Vikings were quite unlucky this time – yet still flashing competitive spirit in their respective games to deliver a promising note that they aren’t still faltering.
Chiefs Remain on the Prowl
On the other hand, the Kansas City Chiefs now improve to a 6-0 record in the 2024 NFL season after beating the San Francisco 49ers in a massive Super Bowl rematch. It proved to be pivotal as the Chiefs now remain the only unbeaten team in the NFL right now, and it seems that there are a lot of talks as to how the team is really on the attack for a repeat.
The Chiefs were scoreless to begin the game, but they did come up with massive bursts in the second and fourth quarters to wrap up the game while holding the Niners to just three, three, six, and six points per quarter, respectively. Still, it is worth noting that it has been Patrick Mahomes’ game once more, and he definitely delivered to help both Kareem Hunt and Mecole Hardman wrap up the day with impressive performances to continue their winning streak and extend it to six games in a row.
