Tomas Hertl Ready to Enjoy First Full Season with Golden Knights
Now that he is finally healthy, it does seem that Tomas Hertl is hoping to make things right in his game with a chance to prove his worth now more than ever. The center is back in full health and will now be joining the rest of the squad as he seeks to help the team chase the biggest success in NHL, the Stanley Cup.
Hertl was traded to the Vegas Golden Knights at the 2024 NHL Deadline on March 8 but was still recovering from a knee surgery. It was what helped him adapt into Vegas well after spending a total of 11 seasons with San Jose. At this point, it does seem that Hertl is ready to take on the big responsibility of helping Vegas take a leap to the big stage once more.
This is a chance that Hertl is ready to take on, and he is hoping that the trade that sent him from one contender to another will give him hope for a promising future with the team. Now it is his big pride and hope that he will see a bigger delight in the season now more than ever.
A New Phase
Hertl is one of the best players in his position before his abrupt injury ended his hopeful performances on the big stage. It cannot be denied that the former San Jose Sharks star was one of the best performers in the game before he actually got injured. But now he is eager to come up with a shot at the top of the league now more than ever.
“I’m really excited, I have great summer. Ready to go. I enjoy that, chirping each other just for fun,” Hertl said. “You can feel the guys are together -- not just players, but the staff, everybody around it. The feeling in the room was really, really nice. … Even when I got traded, I don’t want to sit there all day and just be kind of behind and listen to all the guys. I want to be in the mix.”
The Sharks were finishing last in the NHL back then, and the Golden Knights, on the other hand, were set to defend their title at the time and were poised to a win. But with the team losing some of its key players in the offseason, it does seem that adding Hertl would be a promising move that would actually give them more chances of winning at this point.
All About the Cup
Hertl has definitely benefitted in playing for a team that has an impressive support. At the age of 30, there are definitely a lot of talk as to how he can be the perfect complement for Jack Eichel. It cannot be denied that Hertl is still aspiring to battle for the Cup, and apparently, that is all that matters for him at this point.
“Nobody can guarantee, but you want to get a chance, fight for it, and I want to fight for it and try win it -- for me first time and for the Knights second time. There will be expectations, always, I feel like really high,” Hertl said. “That’s why I got there too, because I see there is chance.”
For Hertl, this is a chance to prove that he has what it takes to win, and he would definitely pleased that the Golden Knights gave him a promising chance to show what he can deliver at the big stage.
