RSI has just introduced a new initiative aimed at increasing gaming awareness and literacy for the youth. The program, called Gaming Literacy Aiding Decisions (GLAD), is an innovative program meant to help educators enhance the gaming literacy of high school students as well as promote Rush Street Interactive's responsible relationship with the social aspects of gaming.
Rush Street Interactive, a leading online gambling operator, has announced the launch of a forward-thinking educational initiative aimed at enhancing gaming literacy among teenagers. Developed in partnership with Integrity Compliance 360, the Gaming Literacy Aiding Decisions (GLAD) program is designed to provide educators with the proper tools to help high school students make informed and responsible choices in a landscape increasingly shaped by digital entertainment and gambling.
Bridging the educational gap in a changing gaming environment
With the rapid evolution of technology and entertainment, teens today are growing up in a world where online gaming and gambling are more accessible than ever. Recognizing this societal shift, RSI and IC360 have committed to proactively addressing the educational void surrounding responsible gaming.
"Consumers today have more entertainment options than ever before, including within the gaming space," said Chief Executive Officer of Rush Street Interactive Richard Schwartz. "As technology continues to evolve, entertainment options such as online gambling have become increasingly mainstream. Like any material societal change, this evolution requires thoughtful education and honest, open dialogue - particularly for youth."
Schwartz emphasized the importance of not only acknowledging the prevalence of online gaming but also preparing the next generation with the knowledge to navigate it responsibly. At RSI, we believe our role extends beyond financial contributions. We have a responsibility to empower young people with the tools to make educated decisions about gambling - now and in the future, he added.
A curriculum built for relevance and responsibility
The GLAD initiative seeks to be a cornerstone in responsible gaming education by providing a structured, engaging curriculum for high school educators. It is tailored to help students understand the mechanics and risks associated with gambling while fostering critical thinking around their personal choices and media consumption.
The curriculum's pilot phase has launched in Delaware and New Jersey, where IC360 and RSI have been collaborating with local school districts through a series of speaker events and educational workshops. These early-stage deployments aim to collect valuable feedback and establish performance benchmarks, ensuring the program remains responsive and effective as it expands.
Partnership setting new standards in Responsible Gaming education
IC360, known for its leadership in compliance and responsible gambling solutions, sees the collaboration as a significant step toward shaping healthier attitudes in younger audiences.
"We are proud to partner with Rush Street Interactive, a company that has not only identified the need for gambling literacy among young people but has also taken meaningful, proactive steps to lead the way in addressing this critical educational gap," said Co-CEO and President of IC360, Eric Frank.
Frank praised RSI's approach as a model for other industry leaders, saying, "Their demonstrable commitment to supporting educators and empowering students sets a new standard for creating informed and responsible attitudes toward gambling."
A scalable, impactful initiative
The long-term vision for GLAD involves expanding the program beyond its pilot regions to reach schools across North America. RSI as well as IC360 plan to use insights from the initial rollout to refine content and delivery strategies, ensuring the program remains engaging, relevant, and scalable.
By equipping educators with the necessary tools and knowledge, the GLAD initiative is set to foster a generation of students who are not only aware of gambling's presence in modern entertainment but are also prepared to approach it with critical awareness and responsibility. As digital entertainment continues to shape cultural norms, RSI's initiative stands as a proactive and socially conscious effort to educate youth, reinforcing the industry's potential to lead in positive change for society.
