The NFL Playoffs are indeed full of surprises, and we have seen a lot of key favorites get eliminated from the picture as the final four teams left to play are now all set and ready to go. It does seem that the aftermath of the initial clash in the Divisions have left fans wondering what the league has in store as the action continues.
The NFL Championships are slated for another go this weekend, and it does seem that there are a lot of huge expectations as the stakes get even higher than ever with the top teams colliding in what seems to be quite a shakeup in the power of contenders in the league. With all the excitement that has ensued, it does seem that we are all in for a treat come the AFC and NFC Championship games.
Massive upsets have been endured, and it does seem that these previous games in the Divisional Round just sweeten the odds even more. At this point, we all know that there’s going to be fiery games all through the closing stretch of the NFL season, and it is all going down for real.
A Shakeup in the NFC
The Commanders came out on top of the Lions yesterday – what was expected to be a whopping victory for Detroit as the first seed turned out to be a massive upset as Jayden Daniels led the way for Washington to conjure a flawless performance in a 45-31 win. This was the highest scoring game of the entire offseason so far, and Daniels – a rookie – did not even flinch in the biggest moments as he took down Jared Goff and the rest of the Lions in a massive turnaround win.
Washington caps off its first return to the NFC Championship stage in 33 years, and it cannot be denied that this has been quite something that many fans have loved to see so far. On the other hand, the Eagles conjured a massive run in the fourth to bring a promising victory against the LA Rams, who enjoyed a perfect game of their own but could not convert in the final stretch to secure the victory against Philly.
Matthew Stafford enjoyed a huge night, but the Rams ultimately faltered when their defense allowed the Eagles to score two field goals and a touchdown in the fourth, which was pivotal for Jalen Hurts and company to close out the game for good. So far, this now sets up a promising showdown as the Eagles seek to return to the Super Bowl but will have to beat the rising Commanders to do so.
AFC on Another Spectacle
The Kansas City Chiefs continue their storied chase to the top of the NFL world with the team seeking to come up with the first three-peat in NFL history after they defeated the Houston Texans in a clear victory of 32-12. Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the gang have a smooth sailing run once more, and it does seem that it will be quite they have what it takes to deliver what was hyped to be their major season now more than ever.
The MVP battle between Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson ended in yet another disappointing run as the Buffalo Bills managed to stave off the Baltimore Ravens – the latter crumbling in their final comeback attempt as Mark Andrews’ conversion was no good, which could have tied the game and forced extra time.
The stage is now set for the NFL Championships, and this is going to be as fun as it can be with the elite teams on the rise.
