MGM Resorts International has given a boost to its MGM Rewards cards by giving its customers more premium perks, including rewards and partnerships with trusted brands like Royal Caribbean and Marriott. With Marriott, customers can now have access to Marriott Bonvoy, while MGM Rewards Gold members can enjoy an annual cruise benefit from either Celebrity Cruises or Royal Caribbean - and more.
MGM Resorts International has announced a significant expansion of its loyalty program, further cementing its position as one of the gaming industry's largest and most rewarding schemes. The latest enhancements introduce new avenues for earning perks through its strategic partnerships with Marriott Bonvoy and Royal Caribbean, offering members greater access to exclusive benefits.
Strengthening ties with Marriott Bonvoy
In an expansion of its relationship with Marriott Bonvoy, which officially commenced in the previous year, members of MGM Rewards will now enjoy tier-matching privileges with the prestigious hotel loyalty program. Under the revised structure, MGM Rewards Pearl members are now eligible and qualified for Silver Elite status in Marriott Bonvoy, while Gold members of the casino rewards program can attain Gold Elite status in the hotel's scheme. Likewise, Platinum members with MGM Rewards will now have access to corresponding elite benefits within the Marriott Bonvoy ecosystem.
"These elevated tier match benefits, collectively, provide more MGM Rewards members with additional access to perks at over 10,000 Marriott Bonvoy global destinations, such as priority late checkout, room upgrades, welcome gifts, and more," MGM Resorts stated. "Previously linked accounts will reflect the new tier status match automatically."
For those at the highest tier of MGM Rewards - Noir - benefits remain at the top level, with members continuing to enjoy Marriott Bonvoy's prestigious Ambassador Elite status.
Enhanced perks for cruisers
Members of MGM Rewards will also see new opportunities for earning rewards through partnerships with Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean. Among the added benefits is an annual cruise perk available to Gold members of MGM Rewards, enhancing their vacation experiences with premium offerings.
For those who enjoy gaming while at sea, the latest enhancements mean that regardless of their status with their MGM Rewards, members can earn a free play offer aboard Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises. However, the offer is valid only when traveling through MGM's promotional offers, on a certificate, or as part of a group booking.
Additionally, MGM Rewards Platinum and Noir members will receive exclusive benefits when cruising with Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean, including upgraded staterooms, a wider range of itineraries, and extended vacation opportunities through the Annual Cruise Benefit.
The expansion comes amid a growing trend of casino and hospitality companies forming strategic alliances to maximize customer engagement. Notably, Royal Caribbean Group also maintains a points-sharing arrangement with Unity by Hard Rock casino rewards program.
Introducing milestone rewards & eGift cards
Beyond its extended partnerships, MGM Resorts is rolling out a new milestone rewards system designed to provide a smoother transition to higher loyalty tiers. Unlike traditional casino loyalty programs, where tier credits reset at the beginning of each year, the new MGM Rewards milestone plan allows for the rollover of a portion of tier credits into the following year.
For example, members who earn 50,000 credits in 2025 can carry over 7,500 credits to 2026, while those accumulating 125,000 tier credits will be able to roll over 17,500 credits. This innovation provides greater flexibility and incentivizes continued engagement with MGM properties and services.
Additionally, MGM Resorts has unveiled the MGM Rewards eGift card, allowing members to book hotel stays or use rewards for food and beverage purchases at any one of MGM's casino properties. This further enhances the versatility of the program, ensuring that members can maximize their rewards across multiple aspects of their travel and entertainment experiences.
The expansion of MGM Resorts’ loyalty program reflects the company's commitment to providing members with greater value and accessibility to exclusive benefits. By strengthening its partnerships with Marriott Bonvoy and Royal Caribbean, introducing milestone rewards, and launching eGift cards, MGM Rewards continues to evolve as one of the most comprehensive loyalty programs in the gaming and hospitality industry.
