All eyes are on the two Los Angeles teams in the MLS Cup as they both gear up to take on a one-game battle to conclude the West Semifinals in hopes of punching their tickets to reach the Conference Final. At this point, it seems that both teams are heavy favorites to win big, but the challenge seems quite intense to not worry about their chances of winning.

LAFC will take the first schedule of the games as they are set to battle against the Seattle Sounders, who are the fourth-seeded team in the West. LA Galaxy will then take on the Minnesota United on the next game. At this point, both LA clubs are expected to come out on top with these teams being lower-seeded teams, which could mean that their chances are better than most people can expect.

With Inter Miami knocked out of the picture, it seems that the MLS Cup could just go in the way either for the Los Angeles FC or LA Galaxy by the end of the playoffs. So far, these teams are also the top two picks with the best odds to win it all, and that just means that either of these teams losing out will spell disaster in the long run.

Breaking Down the Chances of Winning for LA Teams

Los Angeles FC has the best odds of winning over all the teams in the league with the best odds of +184 ever since Inter Miami fell off the race to the top. So far, LAFC has won a total of 12 matches in all of their 21 meetings, with the Sounders winning only five and four of those ending in a draw. This 2024, LAFC has won all three meetings against the Sounders, including two on the road.

On the other hand, the LA Galaxy is expected to come up second in odds of winning the MLS Cup, with +289 odds behind LAFC. In 16 matches against the Minnesota United, it does seem that the Galaxy will have impressive chances, having won eight of those games, while Minnesota has only managed to win three, and the other five matches ending in a draw. LA Galaxy never lost in two games this season with a 1-1-0 record, including a 2-1 win last July.

So far, it does seem that both LA teams are seeking to deliver a chance to win big in their West Semis campaign. Considering how extensive and promising their games have been over the years, it is no secret that these two clubs are expected to find their way to the top of the league now more than ever.

An Upset Looming? Not Impossible

Considering how there has been a string of upsets in the past few weeks in the MLS, it is not entirely impossible for either LA Galaxy or even LAFC to be defeated with a massive blow. We have seen how the likes of Inter Miami, Columbus Crew, and the Cincinnati FC get knocked out by lower seeds in the East, and even Real Salt Lake got exposed by Minnesota in the first round.

At of the time of writing, LA Galaxy has been set with at least 57% chance to win and a 20% chance to draw. Of course, these odds don’t always tell the full story, with LAFC set to win for 49% and the Sounders with a 25% chance to win. At this point, the MLS is unpredictable, but that shouldn’t hold you back from placing interesting wagers in the long run.
