Single Account For Sports Betting And Horse Racing
Customers rejoice FanDuel has officially launched its shared wallet feature.
The announcement follows a successful soft launch making FanDuel the first US operator to offer parimutuel horse racing and sports betting under a single account.
The company said the measure is part of FanDuel’s ongoing investment in customer experience and its continuing commitment to introducing a new generation of audiences to horse racing.
Where The Shared Wallet Is Available
The merged wallet feature is currently available in nine states.
- Colorado
- Illinois
- Indiana
- Maryland
- Michigan
- New York
- West Virginia
- Wyoming
- Virginia
The company also said the shared wallet feature will expand to other states early next year.
A Welcome Addition To The FanDuel Sports Betting App
The feature is a welcome addition, especially for those multi-sport bettors. Prior to the shared wallet feature, FanDuel Sportsbook customers had to open separate accounts for horse racing and traditional sports betting.
In a statement, FanDuel CEO Amy Howe said horse racing is a big part of the company’s DNA and that this is a significant opportunity to expose a broader, engaged audience to the sport in a familiar environment.
Do More With FanDuel TV
The new feature will also allow customers the ability to wager on and stream horse racing coverage from FanDuel TV. In August, newly appointed chief commercial officer Mike Raffensperger announced FanDuel was launching a 24-hour content network.
FanDuel TV, the re-branding of its TVG network, provides studio programming and live sports content hosted by the group’s influencer partners. Other re-brands are FanDuel Racing (TVG2) and FanDuel+ (TVG OTT).
FanDuel TV content includes:
- “Up & Adams” with Kay Adams
- “Run It Back” with Michele Beadle and Shams Charania
- “More Ways To Win” featuring Lisa Kerney
FanDuel TV broadcasts racing from several different US and international racing venues.
Some include:
Churchill Downs, Santa Anita, Del Mar, Keeneland and Gulfstream Park.
Betting on horse racing is a popular offering for FanDuel parent company Flutter Entertainment, across its sportsbooks in the UK and Australia.
