Anna Kalinskaya and Jannik Sinner Reportedly Make Amends Amid Social Media Issue
Weeks after Jannik Sinner and Anna Kalinskaya were spotted vacationing through Sardinia, Italy, it does seem that there are now talks about how the two tennis stars are said to have broken up after the WTA star reportedly unfollowed the ATP Tour’s world no. 1 in social media. Both parties claimed that they are keeping everything about their relationship confidential at this point and are not interested in putting up details.
Still, both stars did not hold back in supporting each other during their respective campaigns in the French Open back then, and even in the Canadian Open where a sudden development has come into light. Initially, Kalinskaya unfollowed Sinner on social media, but reports have confirmed later on that the WTA star has refollowed Sinner on Instagram.
While this means that they have reconciled, there are many speculations as to what happened between the two stars, this development has sparked more intrigue to fans than to actually put an end in the rumors about the two tennis stars’ relationship.
Diving into the Relationship
Their relationship initially began back in the French Open, where they started dating. Sinner went on to finish with a semifinal run that time and Kalinskaya was rooting for her during the campaign, with even Sinner responding with a kiss emoji on Instagram at the time. This further developed in the grasscourt season, with Wimbledon at its peak. Kalinskaya shared her elation in reaching the final of the Halle Open as did Sinner.
Sinner ended his semifinal campaign in the SW19 later on, while Kalinskaya was forced to retire during the fourth round. The couple would go on to unwind in their vacation in Sardinia, Italy. They would go on to be absent in the Olympics and later return in Canada, with Sinner coming back in Montreal while Kalinskaya got to her run in Toronto.
So far, nothing has been messy when it comes to their relationship. It does seem that social media has been really disruptive in sending messages and impressions about their relationship, but at the very least, the two have finally followed each other back on social media, which definitely hints at something that can be productive and positive for their relationship in the long run.
What’s Next for the Two Stars
Anna Kalinskaya is set to take on the Cincinnati Masters tomorrow in the Round of 64 against Katerina Siniakova, while Jannik Sinner remains unsure to headline the Cincinnati Open after he lost in the quarter-finals of the Montreal Masters 1000. There is a lot of worry about Sinner’s knee injury, which opens up the race for the world no. 1 spot after he dropped points in the standings.
“Yes, everything is fine. You know, I think that kind of thing is more mental than physical, that’s for sure,” he said. “Even if I know that my body is not as strained as I would like to because of last week, but it was also mentally for sure. Yeah, let’s hope to get back in shape. Obviously now making miracles in the next five days, it’s not possible, but being ready for Cincinnati and 100% I don’t think is possible.”
As of the time of writing, Sinner still leads at the top of the race but has a smaller lead on Carlos Alcaraz in the second spot. This means that an absence or early loss in the Cincinnati Open could have dire ramifications in his hold of the top spot.
