The steady decline arguably came from adopting the new format, but it was still at an acceptable number in 2022 before a drastic drop of 1.69 million viewers in 2023. That says a lot about how the fans were really clamoring to revert the NBA All-Star Game format back to the original East vs West compared to having the Team Captain format.
