New York November Sports Betting Revenue Hits All-Time Record $280.5 Million
New York’s sports betting market continues shattering records. Looking at the November results released by the New York State Gaming Commission, total sports betting revenue was $280.5 million. It crushes the previous record of $248.9 million set in May. The figure also tops October’s $238.7 million.
Monthly handle exceeded $2.6 billion for the second straight month. The total amount wagered ranks No. 2 on the all-time list, and $36 million shy of topping October’s $2.64 billion. By comparison, neighboring New Jersey, reported an October handle of $1.2 billion for October. November’s report will be released later this month.
FanDuel and DraftKings stood out from the pack by setting new all-time monthly revenue marks. The two accounted for nearly 80% of the profits among New York sports betting operators.
November was huge for DraftKings, FanDuel
November is traditionally a big month on the sports betting calendar thanks to the NFL, NBA, NHL, college football, and college basketball all being in season.
FanDuel Sportsbook was the top-performing brand with $131.9 million in revenue. It accounted for $1 billion of the Empire State’s total handle. Besides it being a FanDuel record, this is the highest monthly total ever reported by New York online sportsbook. The company also owned the previous all-time mark of $111.3 million set in January.
DraftKings Sportsbook enjoyed a standout month as well highlighted by $89.1 million in monthly revenue, which tops May’s $84.2 million. Like with FanDuel, DK fell a tad short of breaking its October’s handle record of $938 million. DraftKings reported $916.3 million in total bets for November.
These results paint a clear picture of how the two operators are kings of the New York sports betting market. FanDuel and DraftKings accounted for $221 million out of the $280.5 million total.
