June 26, 2024 – Since no one was able to win the top prize on Saturday, the Powerball jackpot has increased to $84 million for the drawing on Monday.

Based on lottery calculations, the winner of Monday's jackpot might get a $40.4 million lump sum payout after taxes.

Playing the Powerball

You can buy a $2 Powerball ticket at your neighborhood convenience shop, gas station, or grocery store. In certain jurisdictions, you can even buy tickets online.

You must mark your ticket with a total of six digits in order to play. There will be five white balls representing the numbers 1 through 69. The Powerball has one number, between 1 and 26, and is red.

You can add a $1 "Power Play" to boost your chances of winning, which increases the payouts for all non-jackpot prizes. Winnings can be multiplied by 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, or 10X with this addition.

A "Quick Pick" is another option available to players, in which case a cashier prints a Powerball ticket with computer-generated numbers on it.
