It has been a long time since the Kylian Mbappe transfer rumors surfaced, and it took almost years before it finally closed down with the French star finally settling to bring his talents to the promised lands of Real Madrid – home to some of the most legendary players in the history of the game.

This transfer saga has gone on for long, and teams such as Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, and even Barcelona have tried so many times to get the young star talent to sign with them but to no avail. But now that Mbappe is slated to enter a new phase in his career, it is about time for him to bring his game to the next level.

How Mbappe Has Established his Legacy in Ligue 1?

Even before his big campaign with Paris Saint-Germain, Mbappe was already a prime talent in his years with Monaco, where he won the Ligue 1 title in his second year with the club. The forward would then be sent on loan to PSG, where he impressed well in the same year after scoring 13 goals in 27 games played, showing the shades of a rising star who was considered a major piece to build around. Mbappe played a huge role with PSG in his loan season, helping the team secure a promising championship by the end of the season. He was also awarded the 2018 FIFA World Cup Best Young Player in the same year as he propelled France to its FIFA World Cup victory.

Of course, Mbappe didn’t stop there. By the age of 21, the star has already tallied a total of six league titles in Ligue 1. Mbappe is the only player to have won the league trophy from 2017 to 2023, winning six out of the seven campaigns as PSG lost to LOSC Lille in the 2020-21 run.

Mbappe’s credentials don’t stop there. He has already logged a total of 75 appearances for the French National team, Les Bleus – where he has already tallied 46 goals in his seven-year run with the team. Aside from winning the FIFA World Cup, Mbappe has also lead them to the World Cup Final in 2022 where they finished as runners-up after losing to Argentina in shootout.

Still, Mbappe’s success in football at such a young age has allowed him to ascend as one of the prime talents who will be seen as the greatest football players when the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi retire from the game.

Mbappe to Real Madrid: How Does That Bring The Blancos to the Next Level

After the departure of Karim Benzema from the club, it seemed that Real Madrid was headed for a lowly finish in their next set of campaigns after that. However, the timely rise of Vinicius Junior allowed the Blancos to build around him, and the acquisition of Jude Bellingham further allowed them to remain contenders in the seasons after Benzema’s move. That also proved that Madrid was ready to thrive to a whole new level, with a lot of talents in their squad, adding Mbappe would not be a huge problem as they can easily find a role for him to fit in.

That being said, there are many ways for Mbappe to fit in well with the Blancos. This only proves how Real Madrid is capable of creating a championship-caliber roster, and how versatile Mbappe can be when it comes to his big games with the team when he joins them by the end of the 2023-24 campaign.

Split Strike With Bellingham

While it cannot be denied that the Blancos have already moved on from a 4-3-1-2 lineup after Benzema’s exit, this is probably the time that the club should make that their standard line with both Bellingham and Mbappe at the helm. Just imagine the dazzling attacks that Madrid can put up with Mbappe leading the charge as split strikers with Bellingham. These two young talents could definitely spice up the way Madrid comes up with attacks down the stretch and create blitz opportunities for the club.

Mbappe as the Standard No. 9

As one of the most versatile forwards in the game, Mbappe can play as a winger or even a midfielder thanks to his dribbling skills that come with high-speed acceleration and deadeye for quick passes. However, it is worth noting that Mbappe has a strong upside in his game when it comes to scoring, as his ability to create scoring opportunities and finish are commonly underrated. However, with the Blancos, they could ignite the 4-3-3 line with Vinicius and Mbappe at the front – and the French star serving a central role as the no. 9. This would allow him to become more of a facilitator and put his skill of exposing weak side defense and become a facilitator for his squad.

Winging it on the Left Wing

Mbappe has always found himself comfortable on the left flank in the past few years, and Madrid can basically use that to their advantage by putting him as the left winger who can come up with some sneak attacks and even isolate key defenders while forcing them to play one-on-one in crucial possessions. Having him on the left wing opens up a cascade of opportunities for Madrid as he can drop into deeper parts of the pitch to make some unstoppable runs whenever he gets the ball for an easy score. Just imagine a front three with him, Vini, and even Rodrygo to add some creative passing and attack to force their way into big possessions on the offensive end.

Will Kylian Mbappe be Able to Win with Real Madrid for Years to Come?

Let’s get this straight, the Blancos are already winning the current season even with Mbappe yet to join the squad. They are the greatest team in La Liga right now, and it is a no-brainer to expect them that they will find ways to win titles with Mbappe joining the fray. It would be easier to say that they have what it takes to build a dynasty that will definitely bring the Spanish top-flight to its knees.

If anything, these will definitely be scary times for La Liga fans. Imagine the best player in the French top-flight battling alongside the best club in the Spanish league. There’s no other direct threat to Mbappe’s road to glory in La Liga, and that’s why his move is just the perfect step towards building his legacy in the sport. Mind you, Mbappe’s just 25 – entering the prime years of his career, which is why you can be sure that the French star still has a lot to offer in his games.
